Grim Bounty is one of those cards players keep asking about. Here is, in plain words, what its official text says, the rulings published by Wizards of the Coast, and the combos players actually run.
01
Official card text
Destroy target creature or planeswalker. Create a Treasure token. (It's an artifact with ", Sacrifice this token: Add one mana of any color.")
How it works : Grim Bounty
Original English text — Wizards of the Coast / Scryfall
- #1· Wizards of the Coast
If the target is not legal as Grim Bounty tries to resolve, perhaps because the creature or planeswalker is no longer on the battlefield, it will do nothing. You will not create a Treasure token.
