Honor is one of those cards players keep asking about. Here is, in plain words, what its official text says, the rulings published by Wizards of the Coast, and the combos players actually run.
Official card text
Put a +1/+1 counter on target creature. Draw a card.
How it works : Honor
Original English text — Wizards of the Coast / Scryfall
- #1· Wizards of the Coast
If the target creature is an illegal target as Honor tries to resolve, it won’t resolve and none of its effects will happen. You won’t draw a card.
No other card is named in this ruling.
Interactions with other cards
These cards' text mentions Honor.
Vigilance Geist-Honored Monk's power and toughness are each equal to the number of creatures you control. When this creature enters, create two 1/1 white Spirit creature tokens with flying.
The next time a source of your choice would deal damage to any target this turn, prevent that damage. If damage from a red source is prevented this way, Honorable Passage deals that much damage to the source's controller.
