Carte Magic Impending Disaster

Impending Disaster is one of those cards players keep asking about. Here is, in plain words, what its official text says, the rulings published by Wizards of the Coast, and the combos players actually run.

01

Official card text

At the beginning of your upkeep, if there are seven or more lands on the battlefield, sacrifice this enchantment and destroy all lands.

How it works : Impending Disaster

Original English text — Wizards of the Coast / Scryfall

  1. #1· Wizards of the Coast

If this card is not on the battlefield at the times its ability resolves, then you can’t sacrifice it. However, you still destroy all lands.

No other card is named in this ruling.

  2. #2· Wizards of the Coast

This ability does not trigger at all if there are not seven lands on the battlefield at the beginning of upkeep. It checks this number again when it is going to resolve and does not do anything if the land count is below 7.

No other card is named in this ruling.

  3. #3· Wizards of the Coast

    The ability is not optional.

No other card is named in this ruling.
