Trygon Prime is one of those cards players keep asking about. Here is, in plain words, what its official text says, the rulings published by Wizards of the Coast, and the combos players actually run.
01
Official card text
Subterranean Assault — Whenever this creature attacks, put a +1/+1 counter on it and a +1/+1 counter on up to one other target attacking creature. That creature can't be blocked this turn.
How it works : Trygon Prime
Original English text — Wizards of the Coast / Scryfall
- #1· Wizards of the Coast
"That creature" refers to the other target attacking creature. It doesn't refer to Trygon Prime, even if you didn't choose a target.
No other card is named in this ruling.
