Carte Magic Quickening Licid

Quickening Licid is one of those cards players keep asking about. Here is, in plain words, what its official text says, the rulings published by Wizards of the Coast, and the combos players actually run.

01

Official card text

{1}{W}, {T}: This creature loses this ability and becomes an Aura enchantment with enchant creature. Attach it to target creature. You may pay {W} to end this effect. Enchanted creature has first strike.

How it works : Quickening Licid

Original English text — Wizards of the Coast / Scryfall

  1. #1· Wizards of the Coast

Paying the cost to end the effect is a special action and can't be responded to.

No other card is named in this ruling.

  2. #2· Wizards of the Coast

If a spell that can target enchantments but not creatures (such as Clear) is cast targeting the Licid after it has become an enchantment, but the Licid's controller pays the cost, the Licid will no longer be an enchantment. This will result in the spell failing to resolve for having no legal targets.

No other card is named in this ruling.
